Windows Genuine Advantage

1. restart the computer in safe mode

2. delete wgatray.exe from c:/windows/system32/

3. delete legitcheckcontrol.dll from c:/windows/system32/

4. rightclick wgalogon.dll and click properties. Set the file to read only and click ok.

5. click tools dropdown menu and select folder options.

6. on the view tab, check show hidden folders and files & uncheck hide protected operating system files. Click ok.

7. delete wgatray from c:/windows/system32/dllcache/

8. delete the windows general advantage folder from c:/documents and settings/All Users/Application Data/

9. click start and click run.

10. in the run dialogue box type regedit and click ok.

11. open this directory: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/winlogon/Notify/

12. delete wgalogon directory.

13. restart the system.
14. delete wgalogon.dll from c:/windows/system32/

15 restart the system. Windows Genuine Advantage is now removed.
